Acting in the Internet Age
Actors are not too different from bloggers. They have a talent of expression that they want to share with an audience. Their traditional avenues, on stage and on film, are equally costly and sparse. Unfortunately, a great many actors are convinced those are the only avenues and will give up their passion when they find themselves unable to make it to the elite level.
My friend Jim is a actor and a damn good one but not in the elite (He is available, film studios, make him an offer). He tried the traditional audition-heavy path for about 10 years, and has decided it is time to blaze his own path. Fortunately for Jim while refining his acting craft over the years, he also too the time to learn about the Internet, viral marketing and promotion, which all were vital to helping him get this project off the ground.
On April 1st, he debuted in a local cinema house the first episode of his new online serial “The League“. It’s funny, it’s raunchy, it’s NSFW. It’s also a glimpse into the future of the acting industry, when, like blogs for writers, every talented individual has the means to self-sufficiently pursue their dream.
The first episode is available online at www.theleaguetv.com.
Well done Jim.
